This is not really an indication of my mental state. Its just a damn good poem. I’m not trying to say anything other than “I make intense sounding rhymes.”

03:48 pm: Al Khem- True Story
The night was black as bad luck cats
and distant thunder roared
she wandered through my visions
hated and adored
a thousand little bees
were buzzing in my brain
I was high on LSD
drinking mouthwash in the rain
a thousand little shadows
flashed like daggers in the dome
locked in deadly battle
beneath the vaulted throne
their storm swallowed the light
like a swiftly surging snake
it was a nightmare of a fight
but I was still awake
I read the violence like a book
and there between the lines
a little worm writhed on my hook
a little light did shine
and like a little moth
she did a little dance
she writhed and squirmed and twist and turned
and unbuckled my pants
and when she took the bait
I took a little time
to contemplate her fate
and wonder what was mine
I checked the book of life
and I found both our names
I wondered at the knife
I thought her life would claim
I decided I was crazy
but love was in my heart
love always betrays me
though
and leaves me in the dark
then shining in the bad luck night
came stars white as cocaine
so I listened to my conscience
because it knew my name
which I had long forgotten
in the madness and the heat
my heart and mind were rotton
my body was just meat
so what had I to lose?
there is no because
Will is free to choose
to kill more than my buzz
in three days I awoke alone
the vision girl was gone
but who rolled back the stone?
did I do something wrong?
What I’ll say is this:
though reason rules rhyme
it’s overturned with just kiss
from these lips of mine

03:57 pm: Al Khem- cry of the modern man
Let us fear our hunger, and feast
until the blood runs from our splitting sides
let us have desperate intimacy
under the shadow of pornography
let’s have smoke without fear
and fuck without desire
and bring woman to her knees
and breed fitting brides
let us have reckless complacency
and ruthless cacophony
let us kill silence
and explode our holy men in a gasoline minefield
then, perhaps,
we might finally stamp
this intolerable humanity
this war
this love
this sadness
this hunger
this fight that will not end
this thing that will not rest
out of existence
with the spiked boot
of our concerned compassion

please, God, save our civilization
from our humanity

Warning: Lovecraft-inspired emo-poetry.

To the disinterested, I must add a "go fuck yourself," for it is my sacred duty. When I took my first oath, four years ago, I lost the most important thing in my world. When I took another oath, two weeks ago, it suddenly started to come back to me. I don't know if it will, or if this is just a terrible tease. Regardless, here are my feelings on the matter.

WARNING:  poetry

It takes me a long time to finish a song/poem.  I've been working on some of them for ten years now.  These ones are about five years old, so I've certainly posted versions of them somewhere (maybe here, maybe not, can't remember) before.  The other day, however, one of my favorites revealed the means by which I could perfect it in a flash.  I post it here, with two others that compliment it, because its re-write has realized the true essence of the lyric I was originally trying to put forth.  I find that this happens with every perfect song.  I am a compulsive editor, but there is a sense of finality which I get sometimes that indicates to me that the books are closed on this particular piece of work.  I have that sense about Venomous Empty...

02:04 pm: Sexual Revolution- the Seed of Fear
In the Prince, Machiavelli makes a claim which caught my attention the other day.  I wish I could say that it was because I was reading the Prince, but sadly that book has been packed away, so I am forced to paraphrase.

“Because the two can hardly exist simultaneously, it is better to be feared than loved.”

Or words to that effect.

But what’s this?  Can’t love and fear exist simultaneously?  I think that if we look behind what motivates many of the psychological impulses, libidinous connections, and neurotic repression that Freud talks about in his analysis of the mind, we discover that fear is a necessary component of love.  This is rooted in the awakening of the sexual instincts in early childhood...
